Orlando Hotels vs. Orlando Villas
Let’s not beat around the bush in this article! Most kids would like nothing more than to live the full dream and stay in one of the many resort themed hotels. The very idea of waking-up for breakfast and having Mickey or Minnie come over and join them quite simply enthralls them and adds to the whole magical experience of the holiday as a whole. However (and it really is a BIG however!), this little tiny bit of extra ‘magical’ ambiance comes at a huge price!
Many people tend to find that the whole Orlando hotels experience can be very contrived; more than a wee bit sickly-sweet! After two weeks of staying in a themed hotel, the adults may feel as though they are going mad. What is more, trust me, the themed characters novelty will definitely have started to wear off with the youngest members of your travelling group after a few days, as well.
This is where it is such a good idea to contemplate the idea of Orlando Villas. You see, such a self catering property can provide you with the perfect base for exploring the area and it will mean that you won’t overdose on the themes of the parks you intend to visit during your stay. You will ultimately feel in more control of the holiday and will be able to ensure the kids (and maybe the adults too!) are able to stick to their usual routine and enjoy some decent home cooking. This is always a problem when you take a holiday in the United States – the food is nearly always total rubbish with very few truly healthy options available.
You will have the complete flexibility to come and go as you please; you will not be sharing public areas with hundreds of other people; and it is highly likely that you will have the use of your own private pool: that is worth its weight in gold alone and finishes off your holiday in Orlando, Florida perfectly.
Then we come to the issue of cost. If you divide the cost of villas in Orlando by the number of people staying there, you will soon see what excellent value for money these can work out at. You may even tend to find that some of the largest and most luxurious Orlando villas can work out considerably cheaper than staying in Orlando hotels.
This will especially be the case where the themed hotels in the parks are concerned. The park owners realise how expensive their rooms are and this is often why they feel obliged to throw in extras such as $300 spending money that can only be spent in their parks, or ‘kids eat free’ options. I would strongly suggest that you are not fooled by these offers: by the time you pay for multiple hotel rooms for your whole travelling party, it will nearly always work out massively more expensive than staying in Orlando villas.
As with the hotels, the villas in Orlando will have distinct seasons for when it is more expensive to stay. With this in mind and if your budget is somewhat limited, it is always a good idea to travel to Florida outside of the main summer months. Don’t forget that the parks are open year-round and that even during our winter, the weather in Central Florida will still be fantastic when compared with the UK. In fact, I have tended to find that between June and September, it can be a little too hot and humid; whereas, during the Floridian winter, they have weather that is on a par with a good summer back home.
